This patient came to the institute for assistance with an infected knee replacement. The infected wound was cleaned and implanted antibiotic beads were used to sterilize the tissues. After several cleansings a muscle (gastrocnemius) was rotated from the back of the knee to achieve a closed wound. The knee replacement was preserved and he returned to his normal activities.
